Retina Mac book pro maxed out with 8GB ram and 512SSD. While at the office connected to 2 external monitors, 24'' + 20'' with an apple keyboard and Magic Mouse.

Well it costs less, for one. For two, it isn't that bad actually. More than good for my needs.

Late 2013 Retina 13" MacBook Pro. 4 GB RAM and a 128 GB internal SSD (which isn't enough, so I use a 500 GB external HDD).

I have a PC and a Macbook Pro Retina 13", i do all my coding on the MBP and everything else like gaming, designing and such on my PC.

The Macbook Pro is a 13" Retina late 2013 with the i7 CPU at 2.8 Ghz, 16GB DDR3 memory and 256GB SSD drive.¨

Getting 16GB memory is the best thing i could have done, the computer is a MAJOR memory hog when all the development stuff is up and running including OS X.

Late 2013 13" mbp retina as well. Dang, @NormySan, I wish I opted for the 16gb ram now. Coming from a debian os running gnome 2 + i3 windows manager...it fully booted at around 400mb of ram in use. I thought when switching over the mac os, there's no way I'll REALLY need more than 8bg ram.

I have a magic mouse for Illustrator/Photoshop. I also have 2 21'' monitors. None of those get much use recently, I somehow returned to the laptop simplistic style recently.

@lancebutler2 I was thinking the same thing when i was about to buy it then a friend persuaded me to get the 16gb since you can't really upgrade later on so better to pay those extra $$$ and have a computer that lasts a bit longer.

This laptop is superb and I highly recommend for any developer who doesn't mind working on windows. One of the best machines I have used - but I haven't tried a mac so maybe I don't know what I am missing :)

lol I seriously need an upgrade. Built my own at a time when I needed something very cheap.
