Just to chip in with my tuppence worth.... ;-) The new design looks great Jeffrey - congratulations! :-). It's like all the slick things I'd love to do in my own projects but never get the time - so I'm also a bit jealous ;-)

Problem-wise - the notification thing now appears on Firefox (yay) - but when you try and scroll down the list if you have a lot it scrolls the main page 'underneath' rather than the notifications themselves. Oh - and is there any way to clear the notifications list? I think I have quite a lot due to the old behaviour with FF.

Congratulations again - I'm off now to see how many other things I can make spin/expand/do-whizzy-stuff :-)

I love the look of the new design, but I must say not having any sense of your completion level on the series browse or the watchlist is a bit of a pain.

@jeffreyway Ideally clicking on the timestamp of the thread in thread view would go to the last post on the last page so you don't have to scroll to it.

Not a bug, but more of a desire/wish. I think on desktop it's a waste of space to have the left and right sidebars with content sandwiched in between. It would be nice if the right sidebar (channels) were just a dropdown so there is a lot more room for the actual content - the posts. The code formatting would be a lot better as well since it won't be breaking as many single lines of code into separate lines.

Another wish: on images embedded in posts, have a way to increase the size/zoom. Sometimes the embedded image becomes small enough that you can't read the text in the image. It would be nice to click to expand or something.

Have a way to like the original post instead of just replies.

Overall - damn nice job! I find the colors a bit nicer (didn't have a problem with the old ones) and I like the details you put into it.

Just noticed this. If you make a post, like I just did, and then hit the back button, it takes you to the previous page, but with the reply box open and filled in with the post you just made.

On forum thread page, it used to say who the last reply was made by instead of who started the thread. It also highlighted "updated" which made it easier to spot updated threads.

Not a biggie, but the 2 youtube links in the footer point to different urls ( https://www.youtube.com/laracastsofficial and https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3s5g0_lyZYOu8Jjo27udAQ ). They do both end up at the same place/content, but thought I'd mention it in case it matters for seo/tracking or anything.

Edit: correction about the github url. It actually just appends # onto the current url of whatever page you're viewing it from, so it's different if you're on the homepage vs forum, etc.

@jeffreyway if the last answer of a conversation/thread is in page 2+ the link on the thread list not work (sends to first post) I think is because with infinity scroll not load that answer yet

infinity scroll behaviour in long conversations/threads is annoying

Mentioned elsewhere but here to consolidate. The 'updated' flag has disappeared for discussion posts that have changed since you last looked.

Im thinking the modal for replies is more trouble than its worth. On touch screen devices, when open, its not possible to select any text from the thread. Cancelling loses all typed so far. Could do with a way to close the modal but retain the content, then open it again and carry on

Thanks for fixing the notification scrolling/clear all, Jeffrey :-). A+++ customer service - would buy again! ;-)

The modal doesn't work well for editing one of your existing posts, if the post you're editing has a lot of content. This is on desktop.

If I try to edit it, the content of the modal takes up the entire screen and the cancel/post buttons don't show up. You also can't seem to close the modal, either (ESC, clicking outside modal, etc doesn't seem to close modal). Scrolling only scrolls the background of the page, not modal contents (which is expanded to full vertical height)

@jeffreyway Not really a "bug" per se, but would it be possible to not update the updated_at timestamp on threads where the only thing that happened was someone "liked" a reply so it doesn't bump old posts up that don't have any actual content updated? They're not really relevant from a content standpoint the same way as a new reply to the thread or someone selecting what the best reply is. You obviously want to be alerted to that, but not just if someone liked a post in the thread.

The only feature I miss is filtering all unwatched episodes in the browse page. It's a little difficult tracking them down at the moment. I need to remove all filters and scroll all the way down until I see any episodes that don't have a blue check icon on the left.

It's definitely not a problem but an "Unwatched" option under the "My Laracasts" filters would be really helpful!

@KYRPAS - Agree with this and I also made a post. It’s become difficult to find episodes, as series have been pushed to the front as the main thing now. https://laracasts.com/discuss/channels/site-improvements/replace-browse-menu-option-with-whats-new-functionality

@jeffreyway hopefully you consider his as it’s 4-5 clicks just to find new episodes now, or concealed behind the hidden nav menu.

also my watch laters could be renamed to something better.. Queue/play list etc.. :s

Pop up notification disappears really fast!
