Google app engine standard and app engine flexible

I have been researching on deploying my fairly complex laravel application on google's app engine. This is my first time and i have been going through all the reads about it including the comparison between app engine standard and flexible environment but still confused which way to go. I am currently thinking standard but not sure how it might affect me clearly.
