Thanks but I would like to ensure that the PAGES request allows me to generate a new html template everytime I create a new page on Wordpress and allows me to add a link to the new page in the navbar.

Well, in that case, you need to implement the API. I can't make it harder than that for you ;) WordPress has a pretty good API for fetching all possible records: https://developer.wordpress.org/rest-api/
