Some usernames not mentionable due to spaces/special characters

@jeffreyway Hey. I’ve noticed some usernames aren’t “mentionable” in the forum due to spaces or special characters.

For example, I tried replying to someone earlier here, but it’s not detected the username and linked it as a mention.

yeah, its been like that. I think it still notifies them it just doesn't work properly on the frontend.

@webrobert Still doesn’t work for users with spaces in their username, though.

Say a user is named “John Doe". Well, if you try and mention them with @John Doe, that’s going to notify the user @john instead, so it makes tagging/mentioning users with a space in their name impossible.

Maybe @jeffreyway could update with an underscore, if taken then two underscores. I still can't believe some users use the at sign in the username.

@martinbean Yeah I don't get mention notification because of spaces in my name. So I need to remove space from name to get notification :/

is @jeffreyway working on these requests? I think he's busy creating content for the Laracasts courses and making requests, not in priority which has a point though.
