Junior laravel Developer resume with no experience in company.
Hello everyone, Can anyone share a good Resume for a beginner laravel developer with no experience in company, I have been trying to start a job for a long time, But often they don't even respond to me when I send my resume to a job vacancy, I have many personal projects on my github but no one cares, I try to learn and use things like Solid Patterns, If anyone can share the resume and give me some advice, I'd appreciate it.
@georgekala Getting a job as a Laravel developer is always subjective. It depends on where you search. I am sure there are many jobs that might be suitable for you. You may not apply to the right jobs.
Since you are trying to apply for a junior/fresh developer, I don't think it's important whether you applied for a design pattern or not. Based on my understanding, none of the company expect a junior developer to apply design patterns (I might be wrong).
Maybe you can apply for jobs locally (where do you live) first. It will be easy to get a job initially.
@GeorgeKala Unfortunately my linkedin profile is not so rich!
Can you share some tips on how to make my resume
Here is my opinion to organized your CV:
Your focus points
Your skills
Your projects/experience (you can list down personal project URL/Repository link)
Your education
Social engagement (forum/blog/...?)
Social account profiles (github/gitlab/linkedin/...??)
...
I think that the experience gained from personal projects allows me to work as a junior developer without any problems.
Totally agreed. I even started my professional journey by showing my personal projects (because that time I didn't have any official / professional project to show)
I may be old school, but most of the time I won't even bother to look at a resume unless a cover letter is attached. If the applicant can't bother to take the time to compose a short letter to express interest in the position/company, then I don't want them working for me. You need to find ways to separate yourself from the potential hundreds of candidates. Show the recruiter you didn't just mindless submit a cookie cutter resume, but you put forth effort in researching the company, and mention what motivated you to apply for it.
@Talinon I'm also wondering what kind of information I should include directly in the resume about myself to be attractive to the recruiter and interest them, perhaps recruiters look more at company experience than github links.
@GeorgeKala A cover letter is your opportunity to introduce yourself, speak in your own words, explain why you want the job, or to explain any gaps or inexperience in your employment history. Anything you wish to elaborate on, but keep it fairly brief - to a single page. In your case, you could explain why you don't have any relevant employment history, but explain how you're eager to learn and advance your career. Explain what things you are proactively doing to improve your skills. Mention how you've watched 30 Laracasts lessons and plan on continuing. Any company that uses Laravel is aware of Laracasts. Focus on positives and be forward looking, and explain why you think you're a good fit for the company. Express excitement for the opportunity and how you can contribute. A cover letter is your best weapon for warranting a deeper look. If a company is hiring junior developers, the type of person you are is more important than what you know. Skills can be taught... motivation, integrity, work-ethic cannot.
Are you self thaught or did you learn programming in school ?
Recruiters don't have time to check every applicant's git hub projects. Your CV should make a very good first impression otherwise they will just go to the next one. On the internet there are a lot of tips on how you can improve your cv. You can also find some examples from other devs.
Just let them know that you love programming and would love to do it for their company. And you are seeking a long-term good career and not just a job.
Just get right to the point many times they don't feel like reading a long letter first.
It helps if you are a take charge and take the ball and run with it kind of person. That's what good companies are looking for.
