Skepticism

For starters I dont have any questions (at this point), only an observation that I want to share with all relative Laravel/Laracasts newbies (like myself).

As a 15+ years PHP developer I was sceptical, about using Laravel building my applications (about using any framework at all really), at first. But I have to admit its actually very comfortable once you get to know its file-structure and its syntax. Currently I'm only a few videoclips into "Laravel 5.4 From Scratch" and its quite a wonderful experience, I like it a lot, the series that is but Laravel itself as well as I'm allready beginning to see the benefits of the 'whole thing'. I'm pretty comfortable using my own microframework, which enables me to develop at a respectable rate, but Laravel is something else entirely. Even though I like (love) to code everything myself I can also appreciate the speed of development once I'm comfortable enough with the Laravel syntax/framework.

I would really like to express my personal appreciation to Jeffrey Way for the distribution of a most excellent videotutorial, both thumbs up!

Best regards

And remember the framework is very flexible you can pretty well much use it the way you need to. An example active record is completely optional.

I'm a newbie myself and have gone though most of Jeffrey's videos, and I totally agree with you. Working on my first Laravel project and I'm really impressed with the framework so far.
