[Request] Sound Cloud Post-It Note Feel At Specific Places In The Tut Videos

Hi Jeffrey and everyone else,

I find your online lessons a great source of knowledge and information. Everything is easy to apply and for the most part I have found the exact lesson for the situation I am in. I have been having a small frustration lately where I know I have seen a specific code mention/tip in one of the video's but cannot find where exactly it was without allot of effort.

I thought about this and thought I might share a suggestion to look into somehow mimicking what users are capable of doing on Soundcloud by leaving comments at specific points in the music track (obviously, in our case it would be one of your lessons). This would need to be done at a per user basis so that I would only have my collection of notes making it simpler to achieve. I think of it as an interactive blackboard of sorts that just lets me tie-back a moment in time or code clip to something i might have researched/identified at the time.

I am interested to see what others think too?

Here's hoping to see this one day :D

Hey There,

I really liked your idea and I find it very useful, But I think it will be messy.. My solution would be to convert jeffrey's talking to text, And put it under the video like in youtube. So each phrase you are looking for can easily be found. Then it will show you where you should look exactly in the video.

What do you think pal?

Hey @PrinceDM,

Your suggestion is nice, but still would not help me quickly get to where I want to be and not everything I want to find is said, sometimes simply shown. I almost want to bookmark section and as a added bonus be able to have like a "twitter length" message left behind there. What do you think would cause this to be messy? I am intrigued.

Thanks for your thoughts!

Hey @TristanJones ,

I agree with you that it can be beneficial. I just think that it will be messy to the user to use it.. How do you know what was saved in the video for that point where you saved it? How would you manage your saved videos? even in SoundClown you don't get any future information about your saved point, you need to click it and get inside to figure out what was it all about.

@PrinceDM, I agree that you still have to be inside a particular video. So it doesn't solve the problem of: "I remember Jeffrey talking about something but I don't know where on earth he said it". This suggestion is for within a video. So the Sound Cloud example still stands: "I know something happened, I just want to know where in this video it happened."

Hey @TristanJones ,

I think it can be expanded in some way to support outside video info, so it is a good idea. maybe you should ask jeffery what he thinks about it :)
