Own comments cause notifications now?
I’m not entirely sure if this is a recent change, but I don’t recall seeing it before, so I’m guessing it is.
Usually here on the Laracast discussion board, you get the little blue notification icon on your profile avatar when someone else replies to a question you’ve asked or responds to a comment you’ve made. This is good and useful.
Recently, though, the notification icon also shows up when you yourself reply to your own questions. That’s not so useful – I’m generally mentally aware enough to know that I just posted a comment. In this case, the notification goes from being useful to just being annoying.
Additionally, others mentioning you in your own questions now cause two notifications: one for commenting on your question and one for mentioning you. I don’t think they used to do that either, did they?
Are these recent changes? If so, can we re-deactivate them?

Yeah, there is an overload of the notifications and its hard to follow and can easily miss notifications or replies.
I feel like the notification system needs to be improved like you say. Its just hard to follow. And after you click, it should disappear. And you should also be able to right click it.
And maybe a log of notifications could be nice.

Another issue is, this says 10people have replied:
When in reality only one person has replied, 10times.
