It's a good idea, but I don't think Jeffrey is going to put time into this!
What you can do is register for the Laravel Certification: https://laravel.com/certification/
Hello, I'm a CS undergraduate and I need some hours of extracurricular activities to graduate. I would like to sugest a Laracast certification system. Let's say you watched a whole series, you would get a certificate of completion like "John Doe complete 'Y' course of 'Z' hours ".
Thank you.

@bobbybouwmann The link is down.
@vincent15000 Well yeah, this was 4 years ago...
I've always thought these kind of things were a little pointless. ON LInkedIn I see people with hundreds of Lynda.com certificates. i.e. "JavaScript: Functions", "JavaScript and Json", "Up and running withe command line". It seems a little pointless imo :/
Might be an idea to display completed series on your Laracasts profile though?
Mmh, your profile already shows how much videos you completed ;)
That's not enough. We have to provide a more official document to have government training grant.
Like the Udemy. After complete all videos of a serie enable a button that permits download a pdf certificate.
What are you going to do with that certificate? It has no value.
In these times, some companies ask their employees to do some self learning/training , and the company I work at they gave paid accounts to the employees for several learning platforms, and so they ask for proof of end-of-course. But for me and I'm sure other developers as well, Laracasts (which I had previously subscribed) is a more relevant source for training.
I was hoping of finding a method for showing a printable pdf certificate here at LC.
So in a way, the certificate has value.
@jeffreyway, Thats my case. My company requires me to make some IT training and I need to delivery a certificate. I plan to make Laracasts course, but without a certificate, it will not be useful for the company I work. I really need a conclusion certificate. Please, provide a certificate for the paid courses and I will be so glad to complete a lot of then.
Hi @jeffreyway , I think they can be a cool hyperlink within linkedin for anyone who searchs your profile as a recruiter. It could also look that it has no value in a developed country, but in other places it could be a differentiator between someone that made an effort to pay a platform to learn and someone who just has a bachelor. Obviously someone can cheat but if a recruiter sees your certificates it could be a base on what to ask for.
Edit: Also I see a lot of people having some or a lot of certificates, and seeing my profile almost empty even if I had learn a lot from this place.
@JeffreyWay and it is also valuable for graduations like the original topic mentioned ("John Doe complete 'Y' course of 'Z' hours "). Will it ever be a thing?
@henryavila 3 years ago and nothing changed. Training has value if the company who release that make a good training for the industry, in this 11years of works certificates maybe not has a great value per se(it depend's by the company politics enterpretation) but great value for the content to use on industry(like me i used courses to make network with zyxel devices and get training is essential, laravel need to follow same purpose but this is my opinion). Return back to certificate, on developing app for xerox in a company i needed to do a certificate to use that skills and be able to publish the apps. If big companies move on that direction is obviously obtaining skills from a course and demonstrate it with certifications is a core, obviously you need to make a complex project with acquired skill to demonstrate acquired skill to other companies or will be unuseful.
I ve just found out here while looking for laravel course. I can clearly say that it is one of the most high quality course I have ever seen. I wish to have a chance to reference the completion certificate of this great course on my linkedin. In these days people list crap courses on their linkedin. It is difficult to find really good content
@ccavusoglu Where did you find it? thanks.
