Laracasts: 2-in-1 suggestion - actually LATEST threads?

I'm a casual Laracasts user, when I have downtime I want to go through the latest posts and maybe help someone. But I noticed that "latest" actually means the latest ANSWER to the post which may be a thread from 3 years old, resurrected by some comment like "anyone knows the answer?"

Not sure if I'm alone in this, or this idea has been raised before, but I would love to have "latest questions" sorting, or at least "Today's questions" which would order by the original thread starting time, and not the latest comment. Then I could go through the latest ones for the day and move on with my life :)

Also, it may be easier, just show in the list when the thread was actually started. Currently, it shows only the time of the latest comment. So if I saw a thread posted 3 years ago, I wouldn't bother opening that post, and focus only on the fresh ones that need my help.

You can look at "No Replies Yet".

@jlrdw that's not exactly the same, I may add a better answer on top of existing ones. Also some replies are just for clarification, not answers.

I do wonder about the priority for the forum. I get this site is actually called Laracasts and the primary revenue model is selling screencasts. Not complaining. Love the content.

There was another thread (a month ago) talking about ux enhancements... some were pretty simple tweaks. That didn't land.

Perhaps, there is a way we can contribute to the code? idk?

@webrobert I remember at least a few Laracasts redesigns, but forum behavior didn't change then, so I guess indeed it's not a priority, but it's quite understandable. Demotivates me from participating more actively, but I understand that courses are the focus here.

I'm happy to add a latest filter to the sidebar, though, @povilaskorop, I think you're the only person who has specifically requested it in writing.

@JeffreyWay ok if I'm the only one then don't do it for me, perhaps my use case of using forum is untypical. And sorry, in my message I didn't mean that forum didn't change, I meant that this specific behavior of "latest" feature didn't change, will try to be more clear next time.
