If you're running the oldskool Homestead are you running vagrant up from the directory that contains your cloned Homestead git repository?
The newer Homestead you can run homestead up from anywhere.

Trying to get onto vagrant.
I get the following error
The provider 'VirtualBox' could not be found, but was requested to back the machine 'default'. Please use a provider that exists.
version of virtualbox is 4.3.28

I may be wrong but I think this error The provider 'VirtualBox' could not be found mean just open the VM manager or if you are on Mac, just type virtual box in cmd and the VM manager will start
