Migrate to new Macbook and Valet won't work

I've recently migrated to a new macbook with an M1 chip. I cloned the macbook from a time machine backup.

The only thing that doesn't work is Valet. I'm assuming there are different versions or something. So I decided to uninstall Valet and start again. I install brew and php via brew fine, global composer is fine Then I run Valet Install. The process starts fine but stops at

Stopping nginx...
Installing nginx configuration...
Installing nginx directory...

And it just hangs there, to the extent that I forgot about it and went to bed last night. The process was the still the same this morning.

Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening?

I tried running with -v hoping I might get some more info but sadly not.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I may have to install Homestead.
