Deploying to Amazon Elastic Beanstalk

Hi, is anyone able to help me deloy my larval site to Elastic Beanstalk?

I have created the Application, the Environment and the RDS database which I can connect to using MySQL Workbench. The problem that I have is that no matter what I do I cannot get the site to display. All I get is a 403 Forbidden page.

I have tried modifying the Document Root path to /public but that doesn't seem to make anything happen. I have also found this helpful repo: https://github.com/rennokki/laravel-aws-eb But again it doesn't seem to have changed anything.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am now banging my head agains the wall.

If Elastic Beanstalk is not the recommended route for AWS please enlighten me.
