Laravel, what to do next?

I just finished with the Laravel 5.4 From Scratch series, and i absolutely loved it. Jeff did a really good job on it as usual and i learned quite a bit about this amazing framework. I'm definitely going to be tinkering in it for the next couple of days, as i have some ideas that could be useful in the blog that we created in this series.

Now, the question is what to do after that. What Laravel series would you guys recommend to check out next? I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

I'd say don't jump to another series before practicing. Take your time to develop any personal app or just anything for funs, and if you get stuck in a step then you can look up a solution in the documentation, or ask here, or watch a series that address your problem.

IMO if you keep watching without practicing, you'll forget what you learned very fast.

@empyrean you could approach the Laravel series as a school Syllabus and dig through it. In stead of fitting your needs to the available knowledge, however, you could also fit the available knowledge to your needs; if that makes sense. The sky is the limit. Go do something great. You will learn Laravel along the way.

  • Have a smoke (if a smoker)
  • some coffee
  • a donut
  • role up sleeves
  • start your own practice / training project

If you get stumped, show what you tried, and ask question here.

Don't start off too big, maybe just something requiring a one to many at first.

I love to implement after learning something new. You may build any small project by implementing whatever you learn from the series to prove that, you have understood all the things properly.

Thank you all for your suggestions! I appreciate it very much! After some thinking i decided to start my own project next (as many of you suggested), and come back here when i get stuck or need some assistance. Still not sure what it'll be, but i sure as hell am going to have tons of fun with it. I'm pretty excited. Thank you all again.

@jldrw That thread is quite something, isn't it. :D
