Bumb
Laravel and Ionic
When using Ionic the following error appears: No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin'
The workaround is the following: http://laravel.io/forum/07-05-2014-no-access-control-allow-origin-header-is-present-on-the-requested-resource
The problem is I only want to allow Ionic to make the HTTP calls. If I allow all origins doesn't that mean anyone can make HTTP calls to the resource?
What ways have you guys implemented to allow certain clients to make requests? Should I be looking into OAuth?
Well, i still haven't gotten a solution with handling cors for weeks now. I wish some expert here help with that tutorial on a blog .
Handling cors without using any package appropriately
Plus there r a number of times I had challenges to, posted here n nobody could help. But we really have to just keep moving, striving hard...coding to success
Hi there @ayekoto ! Did you manage to sort this out, and are you still using Ionic?
@eugenevdm This is getting boring now
@eugenevdm why are you doing this? can't you start a new thread? you literally bumped 6 old threads! this is super annoying! for me and everyone else, if you have an issue, we are happy to help, just start a new thread!!!
Apologies then. But I stumbled upon a bunch of old posts mentioning Ionic mobile development framework and all of the ones I replied to had no resolution.
I was merely trying to establish if the users who embarked on those projects took it further. Instead of flaming me rather go and carefully read the posts I replied to from top to bottom and then you will see I was trying to get clarity on a very specific topic, and establish over time what people concluded. @snapey and @oussamamater wouldn't it be interesting to you if 6 years ago you were interested in .NET but now you do Laravel and what had changed?
I've already created another post about which mobile app development platform for Laravel devs but it didn't fit my purpose and I waited months before engaging about the same topic again. Anyway, I guess you guys have some hectic notifications set on your computers and you can't deal with my multiple posts. That point is definitely taken. Cheers to that!
EDIT: I think maybe the difference between your use for Laracasts and my goal is I'm actually trying to establish through thorough research what happened to a specific tech. You guys are just hunting score and now you have an issue with my replies. Seriously.
@eugenevdm No not really, I am here for the high quality content and love helping others which is associated with awards, yes.
But it's just annoying to bump some very old threads, specially if OP is no longer active (which you can check via their profile and activity), instead of asking all your questions in detailed, well structured thread and I am sure that the community will be more than happy to help.
And really, @snapey is the #1 in Laracasts, he helped everyone else here at some point, you should not really say so, because it just dismisses the amount of effort someone is putting to help others (don't get me wrong but your assumptions are a bit offensive).
@eugenevdm The annoying thing is, whether you use Ionic or something else is really irrelevant from a Laravel perspective. Its just a client talking through an api.
@oussamamater I don't think we're all on the same page here. I've been a member of Laracasts for over 5 years and I have always brought my best to the community and the Laracasts forum. Go and check. Now you guys come and berate me and get irate for different reasons:
@snapey is irate because he thinks Ionic has nothing to do with Laravel. My opinion and my goals in my development career might differ from his, in that I love Laravel but I'm building an app. Some frameworks work beautifully with other frameworks. I needed the opinion of the community on a specific framework.
really irrelevant from a Laravel perspective
I don't think it's irrelevant. For example, I need to authenticate and there will be some hard work here. I need to build out a front-end, and I have a lot of questions around VueJS and Tailwind which the community and myself has embraced and how or if this works with other mobile frameworks.
But it's just annoying to bump some very old threads,
Point taken, but to me when I read those forum posts I saw no replies and I found it curious and wanted to get to the bottom of it.
specially if OP is no longer active (which you can check via their profile and activity)
I didn't know what. I guess now every time I post I have to check if poster is active?
instead of asking all your questions in detailed, well structured thread and I am sure that the community will be more than happy to help.
You missed my prior point. This was a post I made months ago: https://laracasts.com/discuss/channels/laravel/best-2022-app-development-platform-for-laravel-coders?page=1&replyId=776628
As it turns out most people there recommended Flutter which doesn't work with the VueJS and Tailwind which is a change of direction I embarked on.
And really, @snapey is the #1 in Laracasts, he helped everyone else here at some point, you should not really say so, because it just dismisses the amount of effort someone is putting to help others (don't get me wrong but your assumptions are a bit offensive).
Please don't lecture me. I am a responsible and conciencious user of this forum. I'm happy and respectful that @snapey is #1 but to be honest his answers are terse and often lack detail.
If you have any further problems with how I'm conducting myself on these forums let's get Jeffrey Way involved and then we take it from there. Thanks.
@eugenevdm GLad someone stood up to these mofos, I would rather break their legs but there are far away. I am 100% with you on this one
