Darn it, I started this topic and i frankly don't wanna hear anymore about it...
All of these discussions and a simple css rule edit would suffice to fix the issue. The problem at hand is not a significant one. But a very minor edit that would eliminate the need for this very discussion about who's the bad ass browser or OS in the room...
Ill give you the short.. IE is NOT! going away, it is and remains integrated with Windows which is on 74-75% of all running PCs in the WORLD!!!!
It is extremely short sighted and on the edge of narcissism to simply believe that not supporting it is going to make IE go away. Just because in the case of this site (which i truly love Jeff), has a very limited traffic on IE browsers, collectively or perhaps singularly, the developers of this site have opted to take away my choice of using IE11 while browsing this "very specific" site. It is essentially a boycott of sorts. What's next, Opera? or whatever next browser? Is there a conspiracy or advocacy against IE that I am unaware about at Laracast?
In my line of work, I tend not to advocate, but innovate and I make every attempt at ubiquity. That is sharing the love to as many people as there are willing to accept it. No matter what browser they choose. I make no attempt at drawing any conclusion as to why that person uses any particular browser. Everyone has different circumstances and most of all it is their choice.. I am not here to push Chrome, Firefox or any other browser down anyone's throat.
And again, the issue here requires such a minor edit that on the surface to me seems almost a willful abandonment for the inclusion for IE users.
I am of the mindset that my job as it pertains to the front-end is to open doors NOT close them. And, there is no need for tech talk any further, I know that at least from IE8-9 + can be supported very easily..it is not any different than not being able to support older versions of firefox, chrome what have you.
So I will return to my original comment about Let's not be snarky and just either fix the darn thing or not. I personally am tired of the pissing contest.
With that said, I still love my Laracast and Jeff is kick ass brilliant.
