I know this is a little off topic, but, I was wondering if anyone knows of a site out there like Laracasts that is dedicated to modern Javascript development? Sites I have used to try and increase my skills in Javascript are tuts+ (not nearly as awesome since @JeffreyWay left plus it is too general overall) and Teamtreehouse (nice but it isn't quite as comprehensive as I would like).
Pluralsight has a lot of courses on JavaScript, Frameworks and Front End Testing. Also, Code School has a few courses on the same subject (except testing)
I found this website called Let's Code JavaScript and it seems like Laracasts but for JavaScript / Front End. I don't know what's the quality of the videos like but check it out!
According to the blog, all videos on the site will be free this weekend (April 24-26).
@erozas I know it has been a while, but do you have any feedback about that http://www.letscodejavascript.com/ website? I am looking to level up my JS skills at the moment, and looking for a nice resource.
yes please - I have always had a blindness to JS .. comes from too many decades of back end server work. As a result I am personally less interested in becoming a JS guru but rather getting the most out of front end -> backend integration the quickest easiest way possible. For example ... if I can find a JQuery approach, I won't touch JS.
Yup, more JavaScript tips and tricks / content won't hurt at all, but I'd prefer if the videos were more general rather than specific to one framework (like VueJS or AngularJS). The best thing would be a combination with a laravel project.
Free stuff. Pluralsight has a lot of different tutorials not just javascript.
Nothing compares to the quality of Laracasts videos, but they are informative and friendly.
Hi, @deevoweb I am working on a site like Laracast for modern JavaScript called Sailscasts. You can subscribe to the newsletter https://sailscasts.com to get info as the project goes on. Or follow @sails_casts on twitter.
