@Cronix@Talinon I am not looking for an answer. I am not looking for social justice. I dont care if I look worse. I dont really care for your opinion and I don't expect to support me (I didnt asked for).
Is just a public forum with a huge title "Forge" and I wanted to share my experience with Forge: 10 days to reply + no support at all + cancelling my account (which is ridiculous).
@topvillas as I said I already moved on to other provider. I am just replying your messages. So we can stop here, no more replies on this thread. I shared my experienced, you judged me and we are good.
They already answered your question on why it took 10 days to respond, and apologized for it.
Apologies for the delay in response, looks like your thread was marked as resolved by mistake.
That's happened to me on many occasions, albeit not Forge support.
I dont really care for your opinion and I don't expect to support me (I didnt asked for).
By posting on the public forum here, you kind of ARE asking for feedback/opinion. The general consensus seems to be that you are in the wrong here, at least in the way you interacted with them and really didn't provide anything useful for them to be able to help you. You just argue, assume, accuse and demand. None of which will generally get you very far, as you are seeing. Good luck to you with your attitude.
@wilk_randall it doesnt work like that. in a commercial relationship (customer - business) there are contracts and terms. And for Forge these are the terms:
Read the paragraph "Account Cancellation Or Suspension" it doesn't clearly say that Forge can cancel your account anytime for any reason without violating any term. But it says "If at any time it becomes necessary for Laravel Forge to cancel a customer's service without cause, Laravel Forge will provide 10 days advance notice" and this is Taylor's fault.
that will be my last message to you. I think we had enough of this.
@Cronix you asked me to stop this thread and you keep replying.
I didnt asked for opinion or feedback. As I said I wanted to share my experience in public.
For some people this thread may be helpful so they will consider another provider just in case of 1 out of 1.000.000 that Taylor will decide to push the button again (they say if you do it once, you will do it again).
I provided them all details needes, SSH account to provision the script themselves and the full log file.
that will be my last message to you. I think we had enough of this.
You said this, yet you keep replying. You can't really criticize others for replying if you are doing it too.
Also, to be honest, if I had to deal with a customer like you, I'd probably cancel on you too. It's not worth dealing with someone who can't be reasoned with and acts like they're better than you.
IMO: Did you pay and have no balance due? Because if you weren't paying or difficult on the payment end of things consistently (I would warn you first though) then I would pull the plug as well. Or, if you violated the law in any way, I would pull the plug.
However, everything should be handled with considering the potential number of people a rash move could cause.
If you're going to quote something, quote the whole section and not just the tid bit that agrees with you.
Account Cancellation Or Suspension
Laravel Forge reserves the right to suspend network access to any customer if, in the judgment of the Laravel Forge network administrators, the customer's server is the source or target of a violation of any of the other terms of service or for any other reason which Laravel Forge chooses. Laravel Forge will use reasonable care in notifying the Customer and in resolving the problem in a method resulting in the least amount of service interference. Laravel Forge reserves the right to terminate service without notice for continued and repeated violations of the terms of service. If inappropriate activity is detected, all accounts of the Customer in question will be deactivated until an investigation is complete. Prior notification to the Customer is not assured. In extreme cases, law enforcement will be contacted regarding the activity. The customer will not be credited for the time the customer's machines were suspended.
If at any time it becomes necessary for Laravel Forge to cancel a customer's service without cause, Laravel Forge will provide 10 days advance notice.
You may cancel the service at any time by using the "Cancel Subscription" link located on the "My Account" sub-tab of the Laravel Forge web application. Cancellation of service does not relieve Subscriber of responsibility for the payment of all accrued charges.
Seems they did cover it. They had other reasons which they chose to cancel. Since your Forge box wasn't provisioned, there was nothing further needed and a 10 day notice wasn't necessary. Had you had an actual provisioned server with a site running on it, that'd be different in my view.
@Cronix but I had some other servers with Forge with serious sites and web services. Cancelling my whole account blocks access to those servers too. If I had the 10 days notice, I would have the time to move everything to another provider.
Credit card refunds take a few days to go through and aren't immediate. I've never had a refund show up on my credit card account the same day. It's usually 4-5, or even up to 10 days later.
@georgek - this doesn't seem to be your first issue with forge. Regardless of interpretation of the t&c's for forge it does look like a sensible outcome. You now have a provider you are happy with and Taylor can continue to support the many customers using this service successfully. I'm sure if you need support in the future and if you abide by the laracasts code of conduct you will receive the full support of all of its members
