I would probably use my own network or Twitter/LinkedIn to find some developers. Connect with them and see how things work out. Finding a good fit right away is like buying a lottery ticket. You need to figure out what kind of person you're looking for.
Where to find a good and reliable Laravel Dev (no Upwork, Freelancer,...)?
I hired many devs through the last few years and actually want to stop using Upwork, Freelancer and all these platforms. I think they take away too much money from developers and if there's a problem they won't do much.
So the issue I run in is the following.
I have a SaaS Laravel project in early stages which has work to complete from time to time. It seems that most companies struggle to quote simpler tasks like adding new design parts (code exists) or checking a bug.
Last quote I got from an agency with quite a good portfolio was horrible. I gave them 5 test tasks to quote. They quoted 10hrs for adding a HTML link and such. In the end they said, they didn't look properly at the tasks and will do it again.
But who wants to work with someone who can not even understand basic and simple tasks or quote something proplery. I am well aware that some tasks are very hard to quote on a fix-hours base but adding HTML code/links should be pretty simple for testing tasks. Other tasks of course might will eat up all the quoted hours and then need more hours.
Anyone knows a good approach where to find Laravel developer who is interested in working on a project longterm but not so much in billing "the most hours possible"?
Thanks.
