Suggestions on payment-processing

I am trying to build my very first official website. I have a friend who is trying to be an actor/model, and he has an album he is trying to market. I can play the samples of the music on the webpage just fine, but how do I set up payment for his music if they pay to download a song? I want end-users to be able to pay with a debit/credit card directly on my clients website (without having to go to Paypal or leave the website.)

Also, the security required to maintain the database..... Does Laravel have sufficient security? I will be hosting the website with Amazon Web Service so I suppose I would trust their server security?

NO, that's where a licensed authorized service comes in, you are not supposed to store users secure data like credit cards.

You'll want to use Stripe to process payments. https://stripe.com. Like @jlrdw said, they handle the actual transaction so you don't have to worry about storing (or even receiving) credit card information on your server. As for security, of course Laravel has sufficient security for an ecommerce site. It is running many many many many e commerce sites.
