"Best Answer" follow up notification?

Does Laracasts notify it's users to choose a "Best Answer" in their previous posts if it got replies?

It seems that some questions that got answered correctly are not marked as "Best Answer".

Probably they forgot it so notification could be helpful?

Sadly no :) I think it has talked about before, but no such feature has been made yet.

Or do away with "best answer" and have a solved you can click.

Because I have seen too many "best answers" really be a dangerous security flaw.

I.e., Properly setting up laravel in production, someone gets it working and clicks best answer yet their .env file is still public.

But that is just one example.

Another good one:

A while back a collection was suggested for a large data set, where a normal eloquent query would be more efficient. Works so nice on 200 records.

But what about when you have tens of thousands.

Many if they can get that quick copy and paste and it works, even if it not really the best solution.

But just examples......

But I do appreciate the new to laravel folks that put in honest effort and want to learn good security, etc.

@jlrdw Yeah an upvote function like on stackoverflow would make sense. There you can often go by the answer with most upvotes as it is often better than the "best answer" :)

@jlrdw thanks for sharing your thoughts!

The "Best Answer" though is very subjective in particular to the question and this happens a lot in StackOverflow questions where the 2nd answer is sometimes the "best" answer in line with the standards, security, etc.

But maybe to your point, it's a good idea to have a downvote feature to an answer?
