In case some of you are interested in using Eloquent and Elasticsearch together, I just released a library a few days ago and I'm currently working on v1.0: https://github.com/elodex/elodex
The readme already covers the basics but I'm also working on a more detailed documentation.
Suggestions, opinions and feature requests are more than welcome!

I want to do my Elasticsearch completely custom so that I can fully grasp how it works and how to implement it best.
