Recommendation for large database more then 1B records: PostgreeSQL vs MySQL

I'm currently using MySQL 5.7. My database is getting bigger day by day and sometimes its too costly to make some simple queries on a large db table.

What do you guys recommend about PostgreeSQL, is it better then MySQL in my case ?

Is it more fast and reliable to handle more then 1B records?

It really depends on your specific use case. Optimising queries and table indexes can also help a great deal.
