The videos you watch are mostly free I guess. The paid videos have a lot more content in them as well. Also, Laracasts is updated every week with new videos and always has videos about the latest version.

Laracasts or Udemy?
Hi everyone!! I am almost ready to tackle Laravel I think, I am pretty excited for it but I just got a question, I tried to do the basic PHP course on Laracasts and found it missed a lot of details and the "why" so I have been learning and doing PHP through a project-based Techdegree and now I feel my PHP is good enough for me to learn Laravel or attempt to, but my question is, is Laracasts Laravel content better and more in-depth than the PHP content? Or should I try somewhere else to learn Laravel? I am pretty excited about learning it so I don't want to get a really frustrating course that makes it way harder. Surely Laracasts. Once you start to spent days here, you will forget your sorrows and sufferings related to laravel( some other stuff as well i.e Vue ) but you will never forget to comeback to laracasts ;)
