Of course you can! Nobody is forcing you to use the libraries. If you have the necessary javascript skills to write a draggable tree without a library, go for it.

drag and drop tree without libraries
is it possible to create a draggble tree without using any librarires, because when i try to find some examples they almost all use libraries!!
