Set created item when using showCreateRelationButton() on a BelongsTo field

showCreateRelationButton() is a great feature for BelongsTo fields; but is there a way to set the newly created Model to the selectbox after creation?

It's a little cumbersome to have to search for, and set, your newly created relation immediately after defining it.
