SASS vs. LESS

I'm new to both sass and less and also to laravel.. So I see there are 2 options under asset management.

SASS or LESS?

I would be interested to know what you guys are using and why would someone use SASS over LESS and the other way around?

... SASS, it is more like CSS

i thought the opposite is true and therefore LESS is easier to learn?

Assuming we're talking about the SCSS version of SASS it feels more natural.

We decided to go with SASS (SCSS).

The decision was based on how hard it would be to learn and implement. After doing some research, it looked like LESS was a little more understandable for simple things, but SASS offered better power options if needed. Both have very nice implementation curves in that you can start with regular CSS and then add in the preprocessor features as you learn about them. So, since they both have the same 'floor', it made sense to us to go with the one with the higher 'ceiling', so to speak.
