Cloudways vs forge

Hi, I have used cloudways for years with wordpresss sites but now i am developing in laravel and want to know your thoughts on cloudways vs forge.

  1. The main driver for me thinking cloudways may be a good choice is DB backups included and 24 hour live chat support.

  2. The issue with cloudaywas is ssh to change anything I need on the application, and forge makes this seamless, but some people have said support is not to fast with forge.

  3. If I did choose cloudways would you pair it with envoyer?

Just want to see what you guys would recommend? Thanks

Thanks

Hi.

I've done a lot of Laravel on Cloudways. They are good. But if your projects get complicated using more server-related features then you will struggle!

Cloudways doesn't pair with forge. I've never used forge but I know its seamless.

Cloudways isn't really fully setup for Laravel. I have been bitten by that a good few times.

The great thing you can can autodeploy from git and that's a positive.

Redis queues work fine.

DB stuff is great.

Backups are fine.

You will be ssh'ing in a lot yes I'll give you that.

Laravel Reverb is not set up with them yet. I'm working with them to set this up but we're struggling. This has been a big issue for me as of late.

Envoyer and Forge are Laravel products so they will give you what you want all the way.

If cost is not an issue then use all Laravel Products. make your life a hell of a lot easier. And everything will work.
