What is the default JSON response that a route returns?

I have a simple API Route as such in my routes/api.php:

Route::get('events', function () {
     return Event::all();
});

And when I hit that route, I get json of exactly the event entities:

However, when change to using a route that collects events and paginates them and returns json, I get a different format, including some other fields including a header and date:

Can anyone point me to what the exact default response is in the first case? I'd like to make sure I use that in my controller.
