Our Laravel Vapor Stats

So we started using Laravel Vapor when it first came out, but only for small sites. We've since launched our larger site and we wanted to share our stats with users so they can better see the results. We were scared ourselves and were not sure what to expect. So we hope this helps others. I'll post things as we go along. Feel free to ask for things as I might have forgotten some stuff.

Last Hours

Last 24 Hours with DDoS Attack

Our site is a community promotion site so wars happen and we get attacked for it. This was a big worry for us as we didn't know how much an attack would cost. The attack only lasted a few minutes and cost us around $1.15. We use Cloudflare in front of vapor to help us absorb these attacks.

Thank you for providing that.

Some questions I have are approx how much was this site costing you (on avg.) prior to switching, and what were you hosting it on before?

It would be good to have those numbers/stats to compare to your vapor setup. How much (total) did it cost you before and how much (total) does it cost you now, including all related services?

I'll have to look to see if I can break it down. We were using AWS before, so switching was a benefit because we already knew some of what was happening.

We were running on a t3.large ec2 (we have events every 6 hours that cause our usage to spike), two t3.small aurora instances write and read, and a t3.medium for Redis cache.

Thanks for sharing this, a great help for us thinking of deploying a large app with Vapor
