shylor started a new conversation Webpack Javascript File With Sass Notes In It?

I've done several searches on Google and can't find this explained. I'm just looking for understand on what is happening? Maybe I'm doing something wrong or maybe this is normal.

webpack.min.js

mix.react('resources/js/app.js', 'public/js')
    .js('resources/js/scripts/home.js', 'public/js')
    .sass('resources/sass/app.scss', 'public/css')
    .extract(['react', 'jquery', 'axios'])
    .version();

public/js/home.js

(window["webpackJsonp"] = window["webpackJsonp"] || []).push([["/js/home"],{

/***/ "./resources/js/scripts/home.js":
/*!**************************************!*\
  !*** ./resources/js/scripts/home.js ***!
  \**************************************/
/*! no static exports found */
/***/ (function(module, exports) {

alert("hello world");

/***/ }),

/***/ "./resources/sass/app.scss":
/*!*********************************!*\
  !*** ./resources/sass/app.scss ***!
  \*********************************/
/*! no static exports found */
/***/ (function(module, exports) {

// removed by extract-text-webpack-plugin

/***/ }),

/***/ 0:
/*!**********************************************************************!*\
  !*** multi ./resources/js/scripts/home.js ./resources/sass/app.scss ***!
  \**********************************************************************/
/*! no static exports found */
/***/ (function(module, exports, __webpack_require__) {

__webpack_require__(/*! /{**removed**}/resources/js/scripts/home.js */"./resources/js/scripts/home.js");
module.exports = __webpack_require__(/*! /{**removed**}/resources/sass/app.scss */"./resources/sass/app.scss");

/***/ })

},[[0,"/js/manifest"]]]);

My question is why is there any reference to app.scss in here? It seems like it should not be in this file.

shylor left a reply on Simpler Way For Getting Permissions?

@jdrda I am a bit confused on what you are saying. However, I was able to get my example to work on tinker. Here is the output so you can understand the structure better.

>>> $team
=> App\Team {#686
     id: 1,
     name: "BeGeeked Labs",
     created_at: "2016-12-11 07:13:36",
     updated_at: "2016-12-11 07:13:36",
   }
>>> $user
=> App\User {#698
     id: 1,
     name: "Chris",
     email: "[email protected]",
     created_at: "2016-12-11 07:13:03",
     updated_at: "2016-12-11 07:13:03",
   }
>>> $permissions = App\Permission::where('team_id', $team->id)->where('user_id', $user->id)->get()
=> Illuminate\Database\Eloquent\Collection {#710
     all: [
       App\Permission {#702
         id: 1,
         team_id: 1,
         user_id: 1,
         view_clients: 1,
         manage_clients: 1,
         view_tickets: 1,
         manage_tickets: 1,
         created_at: "2016-12-11 08:48:14",
         updated_at: "2016-12-11 08:48:14",
       },
     ],
   }

Edit: I am also thinking about making this MiddleWare. Is that the correct thinking?

shylor started a new conversation Simpler Way For Getting Permissions?

I am rather new to Laravel and have finally started getting my mind around many of the concepts. However, I have one challenge that I might just be thinking about wrong.

I have a "Teams" and "Users" table that are joined on a Many to Many relationship.

However, I also want to have a "Permissions" table with a "team_id" and "user_id" field along with some permission booleans.

I'm trying to figure out if there is a simple way to do this, or if I need to do something like this.

$permissions = App\Permission::where('team_id', $team->id)->where('user_id', $user->id)->get()

Thanks!
