Laravel Vapor - Can you explain the value to me?

I have to admit I am new to lambda and lambda with PHP / Laravel.

Started to use Vapor. Works great. It has a nice UI. Really does not do tons. Yes, the metrics are nice. The logs are nice. But I can just login to AWS and get these things.

Comparing Vapor to other "ui as a service" offerings the value does not seem aligned. $39 / month just to give a little better UI and some easy scripts to deploy seems a little high.

The free plan works but I grew out of it within a day.

As for deploying it seems (tho I have not tested with Laravel) I could use serverless for free. I have used sst before and it is super easy (tho I don't think they have great PHP support).

Seems to be within an afternoon of effort I could make serverless work (or even custom scripts). When thinking about that it seems $39 / month is pretty expensive.

I am just wondering. Does Vapor have some real magic under the hood that makes $39 / month worth it? Is there some value I am missing. Is setting up serverless or custom scripts super hard and this is a fast track?

Thoughts?

I don't know how to use queues or Octane with Lambda. Only Vapor is possible.

You don't need Vapor if you just want to display the welcome page.
