Would love to hear your tips for a good payment system

Hey guys! :)

So I'm super new with payment systems and besides Stripe I don't really know what could be great to use. I'm trying to start a little business where buyers can buy stuff and seller can sell stuff.

Well, what payment system would you choose if the requirements are:

  • Payments are about 5€ to 30€
  • Own Business Fee is about 15%. So when User pays 10€, 1.5€ stays to my business
  • Payment should be "locked", perhaps something like a "smart contract". When a user buys something, only after 24 hours at delivery date the money is coming to the seller (if nothing is wrong)
  • Buyer is able to use his credit card, any kind of european bank card, paypal etc.
  • Should be in at least 5 different languages
  • At least usable in the US and Europe
  • Traffic is going to be very little at the first year (so monthly payment wouldn't be that great).
  • I'm using Laravel as my Base.

I hope my question is not too off-topic and I don't want to offend someone. I'm just a bit lost in all the pages and would love to hear your opinion.

Thank you!

There are many online payment services out there, but you should really take into consideration how much documentation you will find to help implementing the service you choose.

Laravel provides integration with Braintree and Stripe out of the box. Take a look at the docs here.

I have never used Braitree, but I read that they charge an additional 1% for international currencies, while Stripe does not. You can find a full comparison article here.

Finally, the simple fact that there are great videos right here about implementing Stripe, I would definitely go with that option. Unless you have good experience working with these APIs, they can get tricky sometimes. You should checkout the course Stripe Checkout. This one is not only about subscriptions, but also about single payments, which is closer to what you need.
