Tips on deployment Routine to ubuntu vps of my vue.js/laravel app

I have recently inherited a laravel/vue.js application that is hosted on a ubuntu vps. I want to find a way, a routine for deployment of the server.

So this is a open question on how i should do this, where should i start, any tools/third part programs i could use? Can you deploy from my git repo?

Also how would I be able to back to previous version if i deploy someting that come to find out is not workin like i imagend

Any recomendations?

Iam new to all this. Where i have worked before these kind of thing are already setup. Now i need to setup a whole routine.
