Spark installer issue

Never normally post but am a bit stuck.

Trying to install Spark with windows command line. Have run the command for composer bin to be in systems $PATH. when I run, composer global require "laravel/spark-installer=~1.0"

Changed current directory to C:/Users/Admin/AppData/Roaming/Composer ./composer.json has been updated Loading composer repositories with package information Updating dependencies (including require-dev) Your requirements could not be resolved to an installable set of packages.

Problem 1 - Installation request for laravel/spark-installer ~1.0 -> satisfiable by la ravel/spark-installer[v1.0.0]. - Conclusion: remove symfony/process v3.0.1 - Conclusion: don't install symfony/process v3.0.1 - Installation failed, reverting ./composer.json to its original content.

I ran into something similar, basically, I think it means you have a version of symfony/process in your global composer cache that is incompatible with the one that the Spark installer needs.

You can go into the /.composer folder and remove the symfony/process files from the cache and the composer vendor directory.

/.composer/vendor and /.composer/cache

(Assuming OSX) The .composer folder should be /Users/your-username/.composer (your-username is the username on your computer). Then try installing it again.

That fixed it for me.

@ahuggins Thank you for your reply it did help, I managed to get the spark installer installed but ran into problems when trying to install spark into my project with error "Class 'Illuminate\Routing\ControllerServiceProvider' not found" seems to be a common problem for people trying to install spark in 5.2. Have tried changing the service provider and updating composer but doesn't seem yet to work.

yeah, lol, I was just fixing your issue with composer...Spark is another story...although if I had to guess, the release for Spark will come pretty soon. The teases on Twitter are looking pretty sweet.

I have the latest version of Laravel 5.3 the composer global require "laravel/spark-installer=~1.0" works for installing spark however even after making sour that the environment Variables path was set to C:\Users"my name"\AppData\Roaming\Composer\vendor\bin\spark. I still was not able to get it to work. some of the errors I get are [Symfony\Component\Console\Exception\CommandNotFoundException] Command "install" is not defined.
