Questions on: Spark LESS, Laravel SASS, Home/Welcome Template

This often confuses me. I would think home.blade.php would refer to the home page, not the logged in area. I know you can change this, yet with Spark I don't know if it's risky business. To me, it should be named:

  • dashboard.blade.php (Is the real home.blade.php logged in)
  • home.blade.php or index.blade.php (is the default landing page, rather than welcome.blade.php.

Does anyone know why it's done this way? Has anyone changed this before and had problems later on perhaps when upgrading Spark?

My other question is, why is Spark using LESS but Laravel using SCSS? Is it fairly safe to run this through a LESS to SCSS converter, and if there is an update I can just do it again?

I'm also using Bootstrap 4, so I have to toggle some code around. I just wondered a few of these things if anyone had any thoughts.

Thanks!

Sorry, not answer, are you Jesse Boyer?

And a short answer, a view name should make no difference on updates. The view you have full control on the names via your controller calls.

Hi,

Yeah that's me. Okay, that sounds good I just didn't want to put myself in a pickle. Why do you ask my name? :)

@JREAM because I thank you for your build your own php framework series. I started there, moved to SMVC, which migrated into NOVA https://novaframework.com/

You have inspired a lot of people, thanks.

Oh wow. I had no idea I inspired anyone haha. That makes me happy! I had nobody to talk to about code so I spoke to the microphone :) That was decent warmup series, the MVC one although quite old. Man, you've come a long way for sure from that series, wow.

Hey I can't take credit for your ambition, I'm very impressed. Glad you adopted PHP-FIG, Tossed in Composer, using SemVer, heck you even made Hooks. None of this was even mentioned in those courses. It's quite impressive you have 400+ stars, sheesh. Maintaining a framework is very hard and a lot of work to build and maintain which is why I never tried to build one. The name is pretty cool too. I'm surprised that course inspired you, it seems like your knowledge is far beyond it even with 2.2!

It's not mine, it's David Carr who started SMVC, the first version 1.0 was from your work. But he gave you credit in the readme. It took off from there. I am a contributor to SMVC, I put in the first csrf protection.
