Website Contact / Feedback?

Hope this is this the right place to provide feedback.

Home page looks cool, 10 points for coolness. Does the search do what I need it to? Nope, but it looks awesome.

Can you believe there is no contact form or feedback option in the website, or in Laracasts? Does my feedback need to go to the public community... ? Update... Lary AI led me to look for the word "Support"... on the public site, and I found it! Well, a link to a form is there, just using a word I would never have expected in the footer of a website, that cannot be found in my Laracasts' menu, bar, profile dropdown menu.

Sooooo many comments go unanswered, and forum posts. Why can't I add a screen shot here :-( oh man, the feedback is just growing and growing. hmm, let me see if this github Markdown image works...

  • search doesn't work well, really bad actually
  • lack of contact form and feedback form on main site, even for logged in users. I couldn't find it, and the chat bot told me that websites usually have one of those forms, and to try using a search engine :-( ... Update - there is a link labelled "Support" in the footer. Not as helpful as Contact, Feedback (something more common), and or link in the profile dropdown.
  • does anyone work at Laracasts and respond to comments on videos? Maybe just remove the comments. Seeing a comment/question and not have it replied to for 5 months is sad to see. Insulting really.
  • does this site have so little income that they cannot answer comments? Should we pay extra for responses?
  • video courses have a lot of filler that could be moved to separate videos (courses, or add it at the end under some tag like, not essential to course topic. E.g. 13 mins on converting something to an array in a course on how to build Laravel Packages.
  • resources seem to be going to website CSS improvements and an AI chat bot rather than addressing issues to improve the usability of the service; Just how I feel.

Laracasts chatbot interesting response to say the least. ^^^ there should be an image there https://www.dropbox.com/s/7so8jsfpamaxvfy/Laracasts-chatbot-contactform-feedback.png?dl=0

Sooooo many comments go unanswered, and forum posts.

Unfortunately there is nothing stopping people posting poorly presented questions, sometimes not even related to Laravel. Those that are worthy of replies get attention. 482 pages in 10 years is not many.

Laracasts is run by one person. Most of the time is spent curating new content, not replying to often pointless, off topic questions left against videos.

Can we compare this to your site to see how you are doing?

How many comments did you answer to reduce that number?

I'm trying to say that if an education video is posted with a comments section, which allows students to ask the instructor questions, I would expect the instructor, that gets paid to work, to do some follow up work and answer their student's questions. Otherwise, I would just expect the comments section below the videos to be disabled.

Forum responses... why is this forum under the Laracasts brand if it the owner will not participate? In this case I would recommend placing it under another brand so that people like me don't expect any kind of quality or service attached to Laracasts.

"poorly presented questions" - why ignore them. Could just flag it as [poorly presented question], right? Nope, can't or they don't. Could they link to something that helps people present better questions in the format they want? I guess they could without much hassle.

This is my personal feedback. Fine if you don't agree. You are free to post your own feedback.

@christofer why not just post a question about the video on the forum, a better chance of getting it answered.

To search, I use Google like this:

site:laracasts.com your search term

Explanation, Google search is much more powerful than the site search feature.

I would recommend placing it under another brand so that people like me don't expect any kind of quality or service attached to Laracasts.

I guess you are saying that those of use here on the forum (volunteers trying to help people) have never gave a good answer.

Why don't you learn like I did, in the late 1980's before windows, forums, internet (no google), you either bought a book or checked out a library book on what you were learning.

These forum members are a great bunch when you ask a question nicely. Many bend over backwards to help folks.

FYI, people on this forum kind of stick together when it comes to someone being negative. We like nice people.

Me and others have taken someones problem, actually worked on it for two or more hours and came back with a helpful reply.

So that:

any kind of quality

comment is uncalled for. If you wish you can always seek help on other forums if we are not good enough for you. Just my opinion.
