The Goodbye Debacle - PODCAST

Not sure if Jeff reads these or not, but anyone that listened to the podcast will know what I'm talking about. Jokes will always manage to offend someone. That's what I've heard every professional comic say about their material. Some jokes can go too far, but this isn't one of those cases. I don't think the goodbye page should be changed because some people didn't get it and took it the wrong way. It's funny and I'm done wasting my time on it. What do you guys think?

After hearing Jeffrey's explanation in the podcast, I feel sorry for him that people take it seriously and rude.

But before that, I was annoyed too especially the phrase "We'll have you replaced in 5 seconds". Feels like I'm not important given I paid for a subscription in the past x months.

Anyways, too many negative things happened this year so why add this up :)

Jeffrey is just wrong here...

Jeffrey has no idea WHY the person is cancelling -- maybe the subscriber lost their job and can't afford the service anymore

A Cancel is not just a Cancel, it could just be a Pause (I've done this before when I was super busy)

The cancel page is NOT a place to be "sarcastic" -- you can be "funny", just not "sarcastic"

If I saw a page like this I would be shocked at the "arrogance" of the message, and I'd never return

Jeffrey's BRAND is that he's a friendly guy helping you with your skills. Seeing a goodbye page like that is the opposite, makes him sound insecure and petty

Plus it's just a bad business move -- why gamble with a (potentially returning) customer

Given that @jeffreyway announced today that he was wrong and that he’s changed the wording on that page, that’s good enough for me.

I don’t see anything to get upset about now.
