I find the search is pretty useless at finding topics.
Try searching "work for laracasts". This topic won't show https://laracasts.com/discuss/channels/general-discussion/work-for-laracasts-web-designer

If I search on the keyword Meltdown : https://laracasts.com/discuss?q=meltdown no results show up.
But there is a discussion going on with the keyword Meltdown or Spectre in the ticket title: https://laracasts.com/discuss/channels/forge/forge-and-digital-ocean-meltdown-and-spectre-vulnerabilities?page=0
Why is this result not popping up in the search results?

Yes, i also do the same with the search but it's not showing the correct result. As like i want web development services It's show some else which are not relevant to my search.
Ok so I am not the only one that was having this issue.
In the mean time we can use google with a site:laracasts.com filter
https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Dlaracasts.com%2Fdiscuss
@JeffreyWay FYI
Hate to admit it, but I've been using google to search the site instead of the site search. It's annoying not being able to find something you KNOW is there, which also leads me to believe I'm not getting accurate results when searching in general.
bump
@m-rk I can find it just fine?
I see that both threads are about 1 month old. The results are probably cached and that's why the thread didn't show up immediately a month ago when it was fresh?
Yes it looks like topics are indexed every x days or something (in the weekend maybe?)
For example search on logicexception: https://laracasts.com/discuss?q=logicexception
This topic started 4 days ago is not visible in the search results: https://laracasts.com/discuss/channels/laravel/image-upload-logicexception-unable-to-guess-the-mime-type-as-no-guessers-are-available-did-you-enable-the-php-fileinfo-extension
I guess if you view this topic a few days from now it will show up in the results. So my suggestion for better search results would be:
Did you try searching % Meltdown instead of just Meltdown, try it. %Meltdown also works.
Have you tried reading threads before replying to them?
@jlrdw No but the the original topic I referenced a month ago is now visible in the search results. But recents topics are not see my earlier comment.
@36864 I was merely trying to show people how to do a search using percent. Golly it actually works. But as usual it will be another waste of time because people won't search the search for the search for the search thing.
But years ago I learned how to walk and chew gum at the same time.
@m-rk that's why caching is not always good.
Its a crappy search and really doesn't work for most things. If I want to search for everything that I've written, I should be able to search "cronix". 0 results. I think it only searches the thread topics, and not the actual content of the threads. If I search "repository", there are only 5 results. Surely there are hundreds/thousands of posts discussing "repository" over the years. I'd rather have a full-text search to actually be able to find what I'm looking for.
I have similar problems with the Algolia search on Laravel.com also. Poor results and only 5 answers
I tried finding How to up speed for insert a recent post.
By entering %up speed
You are right, it don't work. Stop caching results, each search should be a fresh new one
Search accuracy is apparently being replaced which speed being a major concern I'd rather have accuracy.
Oh, and you must have noticed that after typing your search term and picking a result, if its not the right one, you have to retype the term again, and try and remember what you typed before and which results you already checked.
Do a search for "search" lol. It just says "search" 5x.
If you google laravel How to up speed for insert goes right to it. The search definitely needs some work.
