I’m pretty new to PHP and Laravel after coming from JavaScript for almost 3 years and I am wondering if there are any beginner friendly groups to join. I am currently working on the Laravel 8 from scratch course and working on two projects. I just thought it would be cool to be able to bounce ideas and concepts around, asked questions, clarify stuff, etc. I know there is the official discord, but was wondering if there was anything else out there.

The discord is really the only decent other place I know of other than here. There is a few open slack channels for Laravel / Vue & related, but they are not active. There is also Gitter.im, which I think could be a Github sponsored chat, however not active. Then your last option really is Stack Overflow which, as I am sure you are aware, is a question / answer platform, so not really a good option for group discussions.
