nginx 400 bad request?

My application uses Vue to send off PATCH requests to update users information on the page.

The above works find locally but under Nginx it returns a 400 bad request error from Nginx, however the exact same request and same code with the change to a POST request works fine.

Anyone ran into anything similar? my research is coming up with little to nothing.
