A tool to monitor websites status?

hi everyone, this morning I had a call from an angry client complaining that his site was down. I just restarted my server and all went back to normal, but I'm still investigating trying to figure out what happened. My question is: is there a tool to monitor sites status, for example every five or ten minutes checks if all websites, or apache or mysql are up and, if not, sends an email or some sort of notification?

https://uptimerobot.com is what I use to monitor some of our client websites and it works quite well.

Edit: the free plans allows up to 50 monitors with 5 minute intervals, e.g. you can have 50 HTTP monitors (allowing 50 website) and check every 5 mins. I'm not affiliated with this service at all, we use it to monitor our client websites which are schools. If their website is offline they don't lose revenue as they don't sell online so it's not critical that we know instantly that something has gone wrong.

Checking uptimerobot since it's the only one for free. 5 minutes and 50 websites is enough for my needs. Thank you everyone.
