Cloud Deployment to Amazon thru aws-sdk-php

Appreciate the ongoing "project flyer" series. Seems that Amazon was explicitly removed last year as direct server option from Forge (though AWS remains useable as custom VPS). For me deployment remains challenging but AWS should easily fulfill minimum hosting / provisioning requirements within free tier. I would like to see some Laravel-Amazon integration lessons in this series--with or without Forge.

On My With List:

As project flyer unfolds, hopefully JW will dedicate a portion to show how to deploy to AWS directly or with aws-sdk-php +/- the Laravel AWS Service Provider. At Jeff's pace, a few minutes could cover set up of an AWS account with separate links for persistent storage (S3), DB (RDS or DynamoDB) and a brief demo on installing L5.1 on EC2 (Ubuntu or Amazon Linux AMI) +/- IAM role based access.
