Consider code snippets below:
PHPUnit
<?php declare(strict_types=1);
use PHPUnit\Framework\TestCase;
final class StackTest extends TestCase
{
public function testPushAndPop(): void
{
$stack = [];
$this->assertSame(0, count($stack));
array_push($stack, 'foo');
$this->assertSame('foo', $stack[count($stack)-1]);
$this->assertSame(1, count($stack));
$this->assertSame('foo', array_pop($stack));
$this->assertSame(0, count($stack));
}
}
Pest PHP
<?php
test('push and pop', function () {
{
$stack = [];
$this->assertSame(0, count($stack));
array_push($stack, 'foo');
$this->assertSame('foo', $stack[count($stack)-1]);
$this->assertSame(1, count($stack));
$this->assertSame('foo', array_pop($stack));
$this->assertSame(0, count($stack));
}
When the test runs PHPUnit unit will show the number of assertions in the test but pest will just show the test description. Does Pest expect one to have ONE assertion per test? Just curious.
