Is the new 12" MacBook suitable for PHP dev

I just saw the latest MacBook apple released and found it really nice.

But I am a bit worried about the specs.

Has anyone of you been using it for web developpment, is it fast enough ?

I usually work with PhpStorm, one Vagrant machine and Gulp watch.

They'll run, but, honestly, I wouldn't recommend using it for development.

I bought my wife one, and I'm not a big fan of it. The keyboard drives me nuts, and I couldn't imagine coding on it.

@phleobon i would suggest get a Macbook air instead with the upgrades, but windows laptops are already good enough for PHP development. I already tried the latest Macbook and i dont like its keyboard it feels like you are typing on a touchpad click.

I would recommend a MacBook Pro. I run on the 15" from 2014 and its perfekt.

I wouldn’t use anything but a MacBook Pro for developing on the go (I have an iMac on a desk at home for when working there).

Well I'll check for the Air or the Pro then.

Thanks for your opinions :)

The new mac book pro is smaller. I don't think they offer a 17" laptop anymore. I don't need the portability so I use a mini but I did have a pro for awhile and I used a dock from microcenter that holds the pro on its side and on the bottom a holder for the cables for mouse, keyboard, charger and monitor connections. Worked amazing drop and play but can pull out and be on your way.

Web developing generally doesn't require that much power. I have noticed php storm, more so on start up, uses quite a bit compared. Imo if you do desgin with photoshop, if it will run that your good.
