On a scale of 1 to 10, How inportant is Xcode for our Mac dev machines? And will we ever use it in our line of work?
I personally just use VS Code for all development on all OSes.
You'll only need XCode if you ever need to compile to native code.
It's certainly feasible that a web dev might have a need to do so nowadays, due to the existence of things like React Native; Electron and so on.
@SUSTAINED - So unless you work with compiled native code you won’t need Xcode.
Does Xcode provide any dependencies for npm or composer usage?
If I uninstalled it completely will it effect my development?
@thavarshan Do you have any update with this topic? Currently thinking if I should delete xcode on my mac, since it is eating a lot of memory
