Adding roles and permissions to existing laravel lumen project.

I'm fairly new to lumen laravel and I'm collaborating on an already existing project. I have been asked to add roles and permissions to the project and I'm not exactly sure where to start.

But be aware that lumen is being less and less used. It might stop being supported in the future. It isn't even listed under the official Ecosystem anymore https://laravel.com/
