Photo Uploads on Mobile?

I saw some stuff about image intervention and all but I have a general question.

I can imagine what photo uploads might look like in desktop. You probably click a browse or upload button and it will take you into a folder structure where you can navigate your computer's directory.

If I had this exact same browse button while viewing it through a mobile browser, what would happen when you press it? Does the phone know that you want to navigate one of its galleries?

If so, does this work for all types of phones? iphones and android?

If not, which technologies must i look towards?

Lastly, can you guys please give me any general advice on this issue?

Many thanks!

@vipin93 I actually tried it out on a phone and I realized that it allowed me to browse my note2 's files. The only issue is that when mobile apps have an upload it allows for me to browse my gallery of pictures, but when I use file upload through php it doesn't give me that gallery option. Instead I need to browse through a weird folder structure. Is there a way to prompt that gallery option?
