Doing preparations for an e-commerce branch for our SaaS platform. Will be set up as a separate application, but also with Laravel as main framework. Considering Laravel Aimeos, Bagisto and Statamic + Simple Commerce.
Prefer not to build from scratch, but a package that has a lot of out of the box.
Needs to to simple to set up
Multi vendor or option to set up an e-commerce site per client with ease
Fast Loading
License: MIT, Apache preferred & no limitations for SaaS
Cost - prefer a free & open source package
I like Statamic but we will need Platform version if we want a SaaS setup for $7 per month and then Simple Commerce add-on for another $139 (Pro multi site is cheaper but that would be one license with multi currencies or languages)
Bagisto looks like the most well known package and for free but for add-ons like multi vendor we need to pay $449 . Aimeos looks nice too but a multi vendor for B2B or B2C seems to be even pricier at $1499.
Ran into Microweber https://github.com/microweber/microweber . Looked very interesting as well. Is a site builder / e-commerce builder. Only need to see if we could use that part of another Laravel application or not. And it also does require licensing for white labelling. And that is not ideal if we wind up paying indefinitely.
Also, may be dropping multi vendor altogether and do separate setups / databases per user and integrate it into main application via API instead.
Curious to know your conclusion. Came across your post today while doing research on the same top. I'll like to use laravel for backend exposing the API for a flutter cross platform app.
all I need is a base multi vendor marketplace so I can expand with custom features. So what setup did you finally go with for your saas platform? Not going in for saas but curious to know.
@Babilavena We went for Aimeos in the end. But did hit some dificulties with multiple databases initially. We overcame those, but decided to freeze the project for the time being.
